AFRICANS SEEK END TO LIBERIAN WAR

Five African presidents arrived in the Ivory Coast Saturday to try to end the 18-month-old Liberian civil war.The main Liberian rebel leader, Charles Taylor, who claims to control up to 90 per cent of the country, was expected to attend, as was interim President Amos Sawyer. The newly appointed chairman of the Organization of African Unity, Nigeria's President Ibrahim Babangida, said the agenda would include all issues affecting West Africa and ties to South Africa.
