LAWS BOOST ENVIRONMENT BUSINESS

May 30, 1991

Though business was dampened by the recession and the Gulf conflict, the environmental industry expanded rapidly in 1990. According to Environmental Business Journal, revenues for environmental products and services reached $132 billion last year, up 12 percent from 1989. The San Diego-based publication projects another 11 percent increase to $146 billion this year.

Increasing enforcement of the growing number of environmental regulations kept most environmental markets from stalling, the trade publication says.
