NEW GAME IN MARKETING VIDEO GAMES

April 19, 1991

There is more than one way to market a product. American Video Entertainment Inc. is taking advantage of the settlement of the Federal Trade Commission's price-fixing allegations against Nintendo of America Inc. Under the settlement, Nintendo will mail a $5 "instant redemption certificates" toward the purchase of any Nintendo video game to each consumer who purchased a Nintendo home video game console between June 1, 1988 and Dec. 31, 1990.

Now American Video says it will redeem the coupons for a $5 discount on its own games (compatible with the Nintendo system), plus donate $1 to a charity.
