L.A. BEGINS NATION'S FIRST VIETNAMESE NEWSCAST

December 3, 1990

The segmentation of television audiences continues apace. The nation's first daily newscast in Vietnamese premieres today on Los Angeles's KSCI-TV and the International Channel cable network. Entitled ``Little Saigon Television,'' the daily half-hour newscast will feature coverage of social and cultural events in the southern California Vietnamese community.

One-fourth of the nation's 860,000 Vietnamese are concentrated in southern California, the largest enclave of Vietnamese outside Vietnam.
