BUSH VETOES INTELLIGENCE AGENCY BILL

President Bush late Friday vetoed legislation authorizing spending by US intelligence agencies, saying one part of the bill might harm his ability to deal with foreign governments. The legislation would have approved spending of an undisclosed sum of money for US intelligence activities.

It also would have made minor changes in federal laws governing the Central Intelligence Agency and other super-secret federal bodies.
