GREEN COMPANIES BLOOM IN FALL

November 14, 1990

As other sectors of the economy slipped toward a possible recession in the third quarter of 1990, environmental cleanup companies posted strong growth in revenues. Waste Management Inc., Ogden Projects, Envirosafe Services, and ERCE Environmental are among the firms cited by Michael Silverstein, editor of the Directory of Environmental Investing. Mr. Silverstein notes that the growth of these companies is driven by government regulations, not consumer demand, and thus promises to weather an economic downturn.
