IRAQI MEDIA ATTACKS EGYPT'S MUBARAK

August 13, 1990

Iraq's state-controlled media continued a bitter attack against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak yesterday, with one paper calling him ``an obedient imperialist agent.'' Mr. Mubarak said Saturday that there was no hope for a peaceful solution to the Persian Gulf crisis. He has sent troops to spearhead a planned pan-Arab force helping to defend Saudi Arabia.

The Al-Thawra newspaper of Iraq's ruling Baath Party said Mubarak ``is shackled by his commitments toward America, Israel, and the oil emirs.''
