EXECUTIVES SPEND TOO MUCH TIME `ON HOLD'

Little distractions can add up to a lot of wasted time - perhaps 3-1/2 months of the work-year - for business executives in the United States, suggests a nationwide study developed by Accountemps, a temporary personnel service. On a given day, respondents said they spend 72 minutes attending unnecessary meetings, 32 minutes reading and writing unnecessary memos, and 15 minutes waiting on hold on the telephone.
