REFRIGERATOR WITHOUT CFCs TO BE TESTED

December 22, 1989

Cryodynamics Inc., a pioneer in the field of refrigeration without chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), is exploring the use of its technology in home refrigerators. Gasses that are CFCs are believed to deplete the atmosphere's ozone layer, permitting a potentially dangerous increase in ultraviolet light to reach the earth's surface. A Cryodynamics cooler has been installed in an Admiral Company refrigerator. Early in 1990 Admiral will begin testing the unit for efficiency and overall performance. The unit will use ozone-safe helium as a refrigerant gas.
