Enframed Frieze

November 29, 1989

Winter arrived one windy night and leaned chisel-in-hand beside my windowsill and, with chill authority, convened the shades of those he mischose to kill out-of-season. Then, as though to transcend all evidence (frozen foliage and grass) and in atonement for their autumnal end, carved a bas-relief on transfigured glass.
