US RESIDENTS SOON TO NUMBER 250 MILLION

The United States population should reach one-quarter billion next year. According to projections by the economic research service of the Department of Agriculture, the total population will pass the 250 million mark by Feb. 15 if members of the armed forces living abroad is included.

If only residents of US territory are counted, that mark will be passed by May 15.
