October 31, 1989

The Mozambique government said Monday it arrested and jailed eight foreigners - six Americans, a Briton, and a South African - last week for illegally entering the country. The Mozambique news agency said the British citizen, Peter Christopher Hammond, is the leader of Frontline Fellowship which is openly supportive of South African-backed bandit organizations such as the Mozambique national resistance movement known as Renamo.
