GROWING FRENCH NAVAL FORCE IN LEBANON

The powerful French naval force assembling off Lebanon totals eight ships, military sources said Tuesday. They said the fleet includes an anti-submarine frigate, whose departure from France last weekend was not announced. France says the naval force will evacuate its nationals from Beirut and provide humanitarian aid if the fighting worsens.
