Programming at Anthology Film Archives includes premi`eres, retrospectives, lectures, recitals, and a couple of permanent series: the Essential Cinema Repertory, comprising Anthology's own selection of avant-garde and historically influential classics; and the American Narrative Film program, tracing the course of storytelling in American movies. Coming programs include the theatrical premi`eres of Soviet director Sergei Paradjanov's fable ``Ashik Kerib'' and American director Jacob Burkhardt's drama ``Landlord Blues,'' a retrospective of films by Canadian artist Michael Snow, and a return engagement of the recent ``Glasnost Film Festival,'' comprising new documentaries from the Soviet Union.
