PLO REJECTS IRAN'S TERRORIST ADVICE

May 8, 1989

The Palestine Liberation Organization has bluntly rejected Iranian advice that Palestinians should fight Israeli rule by killing Americans and hijacking planes. ``We are against this poisoned advice to the Palestinian people to commit international terrorism against innocent people,'' PLO spokesman Ahmed Abdder-Rahman said.

The ``advice'' was given Friday by the speaker of Iran's parliament, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, who said Americans and other Westerners were easier to kill than Israelis. If five Westerners died for every Palestinian killed by Israel, the oppression of the Palestinian people would be halted, he added.

``We advise Mr. Rafsanjani to stop interference in Palestinian affairs,'' the PLO official said. ``We are against terrorism.''
