NORMAN JEWISON, who directed the current hit ``Moonstruck,'' will soon start shooting ``In Country,'' the story of a small-town family's struggle with complex emotions growing from the Vietnam war. Frank Pierson, an Oscar-winner for ``Dog Day Afternoon'' in 1975, wrote the screenplay. This will be Jewison's 24th movie in 24 years. ``In the Heat of the Night'' and ``A Soldier's Story'' are among his other films. REL^ACHE, a 10-year-old ensemble based in Philadelphia and specializing in new music, will make its first appearance at New York's Merkin Hall Feb. 21. The program will include works by Thomas Albert, Stephen Montague, Paul Epstein, Guy Klusevcek, and Philip Corner. The concert will be broadcast live over WNYC-FM and digitally recorded for distribution to other National Public Radio stations. COMPOSER JOHN CAGE will be honored at Wesleyan University, Middletown, Conn., Feb. 22-27 by a scholarly conference on his work, as well as by the premi`ere of a new Cage work and by a complete performance of his ``Atlas Eclipticalis.'' Cage's association with Wesleyan developed in the 1950s. He was twice appointed a fellow of what is now called the Center for the Humanities.
