Reflections in the bay

August 13, 1987

Where in the rainbow's lining does the bay of evening hang? A sky away, quicksilver thin, from where the constellations sprang

into the harbor's choice of clouds shining on Aurora's tide, patina of the flowing sea where stars along the bottom rise.

How lavender the ribbon trail where little ducks presume to sip celestial cream, to taste ambrosia petals of the moon!
