Rose words

July 7, 1987

Speak to me with words that resemble roses, words of different shapes and shades and sizes - yellow like the rose that socializes with midmorning sun; a shy pink bud that closes about its sweetness, a red one that devises drama ahead for a secret meeting. Speak like a wild rose, flinging an affectionate greeting! I hear many words that seem like flowers, some precise as sweet peas, some like bowers gushing with extravagant meanings. Iris that surprises me with admiration; peony which proposes insistent loyalties, and philosophizes. But tender is the evening. A light breeze rises. I am in need of words as soft as roses that I may answer with elegant velvet phrases, bloom that you may cut and put in vases!
