Tambourine tree

September 26, 1986

On the tambourine tree golden coins Jingle in the wind. Gypsy winds hum Hungarian rhapsodies. Leaves dance, night singers sing. A blackbird rests on satin air. Night ends. Morning leaves mount stallion winds And race to the sun, While I, blown along by a poem, Walk with a minstrel leaf, December winds tucked in my sleeve.
