In face of doubt

Let us not believe that what achieves no growth must retrogress; rather, let us know that lulls occur between all ``tides in the affairs of men.'' And when in darkened hours we may feel emptiness (which is the face of doubt) let us fill it out with faith -- with reaching faith. And needing tears (when need is urgent) may we all have more to weep for than ourselves.
