In the year of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach

A flock of snow geese sinks into a ragged brown field. Light is the word following them downwind. Snug in old ivy one small stone church borders the field. A pump organ sends across crystalline air the ``Air on the G String.'' Listen. We imagine we are hearing from St. Thomas' Church in Leipzig feathered with snow sound like fugues of light falling down years on wings, the field of vision passionate as each note builds to the perfected whole.
