New paper for Murdoch

October 1, 1985

Rupert Murdoch announced Monday he would add a London evening newspaper to his empire next spring after trade unions agreed to break a deadlock in negotiations over printing technology. The Australian-born millionaire said printing unions had agreed to open talks on the launching of the paper, to be called the London Post.

Negotiations have been held up by trade union opposition to his plans to print the paper in a modern plant being built near London.
