`Mexico under the Rain' -- paintings by Vicente Rojo; `M'exico bajo la lluvia'

August 27, 1985

The pictures on these pages, all acrylic on canvas, are four of more than 80 variations on a theme that offered a glorious downpour of painting and sculpture in the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City at the beginning of the year. The artist is Vicente Rojo, born in Barcelona, who has lived in Mexico since 1949 and whose work has been appearing in individual and group shows since 1958. The headline here is the original Spanish title of the exhibition.
