For my husband: '84 - '85

December 31, 1984

Let us, for this last night of the year, Put ourselves aside, as we seem to be, Pretend we do not know each other well. Perhaps we might have quite a lot to tell. You might look surprised and glad to see Me smiling at you, and contented here. You'd speak of hopes and dreams. I'd ask you how You feel about life, love, and destiny, And principles. You'd describe the star You feel worth following, and I'd agree. We'd like each other and, without a vow, Re-discover what we really are.
