Ruling party wins landslide victory in Singapore election

Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's People's Action Party won a landslide victory in Singapore's general election Saturday, but failed for the first time since independence to gain total control of parliament.

Lee's son, Brig. Gen. Lee Hsien Loong, made a strong showing in his first bid for a parliamentary seat, fueling speculation he is being groomed as Singapore's next leader.
