Iran rejects efforts by Islamic group to settle war

Iran rebuffed hopes that the Islamic Foreign Ministers Conference, which ended a five-day meeting here Saturday, had made significant progress in its effort to end the Iran-Iraq war.

''A cease-fire is out of the question,'' said Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Velayati. ''We will continue the war until we achieve victory.'' He accused the conference and its seven-member Islamic Mediation Committee of pro-Iraqi bias, and said Iran ''will not respond to these mediators until we ascertain their impartiality."
