Ferraro, Zaccaro cleared of '78 campaign charges

Rep. Geraldine Ferraro (D) of New York and her husband, John Zaccaro, were cleared of charges that they violated federal election laws in her 1978 congressional campaign, the Federal Election Commission said Wednesday. The commission rejected allegations that Ms. Ferraro had obtained illegal campaign contributions stemming from her and Zaccaro's involvement in two 1978 real estate transactions in New York City.
