Poland welcomes US move in lifting objections on IMF

Chief government spokesman Jerzy Urban welcomed the US decision to drop its objections to Poland's membership in the International Monetary Fund, describing the US move as ''another sign of a more realistic attitude of the US government toward our country.''

But he said Poland would not agree to exchange ambassadors until the United States lifted the remaining economic sanctions and ended its ''attempts to interfere in Polish internal affairs."
