Solarz wants multinationals to disclose Bhopal-type risks

Rep. Stephen Solarz (D) of New York, on a visit here, said Tuesday he would introduce legislation in Congress requiring more disclosures by multinational companies as a result of the Union Carbide poison gas leak that killed some 2, 500 people here.

He said the proposed laws would require multinationals making harmful products abroad to inform the US and host governments of the risks before building plants.
