47 Taiwanese toymakers cited for exporting fake dolls to US

The Taiwan Toy Manufacturers' Association said Monday it had blacklisted 47 local companies for exporting fake Cabbage Patch dolls to the United States. An association spokesman said the companies will be banned from exporting the dolls following charges of alleged trademark infringement brought by Original Appalachian Art Works of Cleveland, Ga. He added that further disciplinary action will be taken against the 47 exporters, including suspension of their export licenses, if they were found to be selling fakes.
