US cool to Iran offer to swap skyjackers for rebel leader

The White House said Thursday it frowned on a reported Iranian proposal to extradite the four hijackers of a Kuwait airliner in exchange for an exiled rebel leader, generally presumed to be Massoud Rajavi, leader of the People's Mujahideen, who fled to France in 1981.

Iranian Prime Minister Hussein Musavi said ''the aggressive policies'' of the United States caused the deaths of the two Americans at the hands of the hijackers.
