Bush attacks Mondale's 'gloom-and-doom' theme

Vice-President George Bush said Tuesday that Walter Mondale ''has been the unhappy warrior and the American people are not going to buy that gloom and doom and pessimism of Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro.

''That's why the Mondale-Ferraro ticket is behind. It's not because their message isn't being heard. It's because it is being heard loud and clear by the American people,'' Bush said.
