The reputed head of the Colombo organized-crime family has been indicted on racketeering charges along with the ''entire leadership'' of the organization, federal officials announced Wednesday. Eleven high-ranking members of the crime family were indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury, according to a press release obtained before a news conference scheduled for later in the day.

The suspects are charged in the 51-count indictment with a series of crimes ranging from bribery and extortion to loan-sharking and labor racketeering.
