Discovery space shuttle goes to pad for Nov. 7 launching

The space shuttle Discovery was moved to the launch pad Tuesday to be readied for its second trip into space, a satellite release and retrieval mission scheduled to start Nov. 7. The flight will be the 14th for the shuttle program and the third in 10 weeks.

On the second and third days of the mission, the five-member crew will release commercial communications satellites for Telesat of Canada and Hughes Communications Services Inc.
