West European nations lifting political freeze on Poland

West European countries are lifting a state of ''political quarantine'' enforced against Poland for nearly three years, which was one of several sanctions by NATO governments following the imposition of martial law in Poland in late 1981.

Britain will take a lead in ending the freeze by sending Foreign Office Minister of State Malcolm Rifkind on a four-day visit to Poland early in November, diplomatic sources said.
