UN's nonprofit cards aid children

October 10, 1984

There's another player in the holiday card business, but this one is nonprofit. Cards sold by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) may not be as offbeat as those produced by commercial companies, but the proceeds fund international education, health, and nutrition programs for children in underdeveloped areas.

Businesses and individuals can acquire UNICEF cards with a minimum $500 tax-deductible contribution to UNICEF; a company receives a choice of cards imprinted with a message mentioning its contribution. Or, although not deductible, cards can be ordered outright imprinted with a company logo from UNICEF, 331 East 38th Street, New York, N.Y. 10016.
