Far-flung ethnic groups asked to meet with archaeologists

Desert bushmen, Australian aborigines, Eskimos, New Guinea tribesmen, and gypsies are being invited to tell the history of their peoples at the world's largest gathering of archaeologists.

Organizers of the 11th World Archaeological Congress announced last week that they are inviting representatives of nomadic groups across the world to the congress Sept. 1-7, 1986, in Southampton and London.

''We hope it will be a landmark in the history of archaeology, bringing in anthropology, botany, linguistics, and zoology,'' said Prof. John Evans, director of the London Institute of Archaeology and congress president.
