Funding for antiaircraft guns to be withheld pending tests

Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger told Congress on Saturday to withhold $ 379.7 million it planned to appropriate to buy the controversial ''Sergeant York'' antiaircraft guns, pending further testing of whether they work. He said a $479.7 million budget for the weapon proposed by the House in fiscal year 1985 for 117 of the guns should be slashed to $100 million.
