Polls shows President maintaining big leads

President Reagan leads Walter Mondale by 17 points, 54 to 37 percent, among Michigan voters, according to a Gallup poll published Sunday. Gallup surveyed 1, 007 registered voters by Sept. 24-26. Nine percent said they were undecided.

According to a poll published in the Sunday St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Mr. Reagan leads Mr. Mondale in Missouri by 55 to 27 percent, with 17 percent undecided; and in Illinois, by 47 to 34 percent, with 17 percent undecided. The survey indicated that Mondale's running mate, Geraldine Ferraro, is not helping his election chances in either state, and could be having a negative effect.
