'The King and I' at the Wang Center

September 27, 1984

''Hello, young lovers, wherever you are ...'' - and we're back in the land of Siam, with the proud King, the plucky Anna, and all those lovely Rodgers and Hammerstein songs. The voices are marvelous, the costumes and sets brilliant, and the children sparkling. If the sound system blurred many of the words, and Yul Brynner was not quite as magnetic 33 years after originating the role, nonetheless the ''King and I'' is still delightful and should be seen. Ends Sunday.
