Chadians silent on accord for French-Libyan pullout

Chad has yet to make a statement on a French-Libyan accord to withdraw their forces from the country. The delay may reflect official disapproval that the French had failed to consult N'Djamena and that the accord appeared to leave the disputed Aouzou Strip in Libyan hands, sources close to the government say.

The surprise move was announced in Paris Monday after secret talks in Tripoli between French External Relations Minister Claude Cheysson and Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi.
