Israeli and US agents smash Soviet emigre counterfeit ring

American and Israeli agents have smashed a $100 million counterfeiting ring run by emigre Jews from Soviet Georgia in New York and Tel Aviv, officials said Tuesday.

The ring was about to distribute $13 million in US $10, $20, and $100 notes and had plans to print an additional $87 million in bogus currency. Had it gone into operation, the ring would have been the biggest in US history.
