Correction
On a map accompanying an Aug. 29 article, ''Palestinians fear West Bank will stay back-burner issue,'' one box of statistics was incorrect. It should have read, ''If Israel were to annex the West Bank and Gaza Strip (population 485,000 ), Israel's population would total 5.34 million. Of this, 1.95 million - or almost 37 percent - would be Arab.''
