Bush: Democrat arms policy is like 'giving up the store'

Vice-President George Bush said Tuesday that Walter F. Mondale's opposition to the MX missile and B-1 bomber amounts to ''giving up the store'' before entering into arms control talks with the Soviet Union.

In a speech at a student forum at Texas A&M University, Mr. Bush said, ''We're not going to give up strategic weapons systems while the Soviets continue to build theirs up.''

Bush singled out the American invasion of Grenada as ''a proud moment in the history of the United States.'' He charged that ''our opponents won't acknowledge the communist threat in Central America.''
