Reagan to ask Congress for aid to Polish farmers

President Reagan says he will ask Congress to approve $10 million in aid to Polish farmers. The aid fund would be administered by the Roman Catholic Church in Poland under the first private foundation permitted by Poland's communist authorities since the end of World War II, the White House said Friday.

Mr. Reagan said the United States may decide to contribute further money to the aid fund, depending on its effectiveness over a 15-month trial period.
