Hussein backs plan to link Jordan to a Palestinian state

In an interview with Reuters, the PLO chief said he and Jordan's King Hussein had accepted a resolution of the PLO's parliament in exile calling for ''a Palestinian-Jordanian confederation.'' The proposed formula has still to be worked out, but Mr. Arafat defined the confederation as ''an equal relation between two peoples.
