NATO commander raises Limnos issue in Athens

Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou and Gen. Bernard Rogers, the supreme Allied commander in Europe, have ended talks here covering the inclusion of the Greek Aegean island of Limnos in NATO exercises and the establishment of a NATO command in central Greece, an authoritative source said Saturday.

Officials here declined to say whether agreement had been reached on these issues.

Greece has been refusing to participate in NATO maneuvers in the Aegean because the alliance would not include Limnos in the exercises due Turkey's objections, officials said.
