Monitor's editor receives honorary degree

Katherine D. Fanning, editor of The Christian Science Monitor, Sunday received the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Northeastern University in Boston. Mrs. Fanning delivered the commencement address at one of two separate ceremonies held at Boston Garden to honor the university's 4,300 1984 graduates. Massachusetts Gov. Michael S. Dukakis was the other speaker.
