Victorious Boston Celtics in full-court press of fans

Thousands of cheering fans greeted the Boston Celtics Thursday as the National Basketball Association world champions arrived for ''Celtics Pride Day, '' marking their 15th title and the retirement of general manager Arnold (Red) Auerbach.

Some 200,000 jubilant fans were expected to line the parade route and jam City Hall Plaza for ceremonies that were to include Mayor Raymond L. Flynn, Gov. Michael S. Dukakis, and Roman Catholic Archbishop Bernard Law.
