100,000 German workers in 2-hours sympathy strike

About 100,000 workers walked off their jobs Wednesday in a two-hour sympathy strike in support of a quarter-million West German unionists who are in the 10th day of a strike for a shorter workweek.

Leaders of the IG Metall metalworkers union, which has 2.5 million members, are to meet employers today to seek a solution to the dispute.
